Dahlia 'Penhill Dark Monarch' is an elegant dahlia variety that showcases rich pink blooms, perfect for adding a bold statement to your garden. With an established height of 1-1.2m and a blooming spread of 10-20cm, its upright habit makes it ideal for creating vertical interest in borders, coastal gardens, pots, low-maintenance gardens, cut flower displays, and large containers. Blooming from July to September, this semi-hardy dahlia performs best in full sun or partial shade. Plant the tubers 3-5cm deep and space them at 3 per m² for healthy, vibrant growth.

Plant Dahlia tubers from may to early June in a sunny spot. Place the tuber just below the soil surface with the eye facing up. Space 30–40 cm apart and water lightly.

      FAQ - About Dahlias

      Dahlia tubers should be planted in spring, after the last frost has passed. In most climates, this is between April and May. Make sure the soil has warmed up before planting.

      No, dahlias are not winter hardy. In colder climates, the tubers need to be lifted from the ground in autumn and stored in a cool, dry, frost-free place until the following spring.

      Yes, removing spent flowers encourages the plant to produce more blooms and keeps it looking tidy throughout the season.
