Description

Camassia Quamash Blue Melody is a stunning blue flowering bulb that brings vibrant colour to your garden from June through July. These upright plants reach 50–70 cm in height and thrive in full sun within sheltered positions. Plant bulbs 12–15 cm deep and space them 15 cm apart for optimal growth. Easy to grow, these bulbs are perfect for borders, ground cover, lawns, naturalised settings, large containers, gravel gardens, and woodland areas. Camassia is naturally resistant to mice, deer, and rabbits, making it an excellent choice for wildlife gardens. The flowers are also bee-friendly, supporting pollinators throughout the blooming season. Ideal for gardeners of all levels seeking reliable, low-maintenance spring colour.

In late spring, enjoy beautiful blue, purple, or white star-shaped flowers on tall stems!

    FAQ - About Camassia

Camassia bulbs are best planted in autumn, between September and December, before the first frost sets in. This gives the bulbs enough time to form roots before winter begins.

As a rule of thumb, plant the bulbs at a depth of about two to three times their own height. Also allow sufficient spacing between the bulbs, usually 15 to 20 cm, depending on the size of the variety.

Camassia grows best in a sunny to partially shaded location. Unlike many other bulbs, it tolerates moist soil well and even thrives in damp conditions, making it a good choice for spots where other bulbs might struggle.

Camassia are hardy, perennial bulbs. Provided they are planted in the right spot with adequate moisture, they will return year after year and may even naturalize and spread on their own, especially in damp meadow-like settings.
