Description

Dahlia ‘Alain Mimoum’ is a tall, upright purple dahlia reaching 1–1.2 m in height, with fresh green foliage. It thrives in full sun and should be planted 10 cm deep, with a spacing of about 5 tubers per m². Flowering from July to October, this variety performs well in borders, large containers, coastal gardens and makes excellent cut flowers. It establishes quickly in the first year and is easy to grow. Dahlia ‘Alain Mimoum’ is mouse-, deer-, and rabbit-resistant and attractive to bees, making it a dependable and wildlife-friendly choice for a sunny, sheltered spot in the garden.

    FAQ - About Allium

Allium bulbs are best planted in autumn, between September and November, before the first frost sets in. This gives the bulbs enough time to form roots before winter begins.

As a rule of thumb, plant the bulbs at a depth of about two to three times their own height. Also allow sufficient spacing between the bulbs, usually 10 to 20 cm, depending on the size of the variety.

Yes, Alliums grow best in a sunny location. They like well-draining soil and thrive less well in shady, damp conditions.

Yes, Alliums are hardy, perennial bulbs. Provided they are planted in the right spot and the bulbs don't rot from excess moisture, they will return year after year and may even naturalize and spread on their own.
